The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) approved its plan for transitioning direct Adult Day Services from the County Board to WASCO Industries, Inc. at its board meeting on October 6, 2015. This plan, which was developed in order to be in compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) federal government’s Conflict Free Case Management mandate, involves WASCO Industries, Inc. beginning the transition of service operations January 1 2016 and finalizing the transition by July 5, 2016

The CMS/federal government’s Conflict Free Case Management mandate is changing the way County Boards of DD operate nationwide. According to the mandate, boards that develop individual plans cannot be the entity that also provides direct services. As such, the WCBDD will continue to develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs), while individuals in need of services will continue to have freedom of choice in providers of those services.

The Board will continue to determine individual eligibility for services, write plans and monitor the services and supports indicated in the plans. All levy funds will continue to be used to support the individuals eligible for services.
