Aquatics Programs
The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities offers aquatic programs for all students at Ewing School and the adults we proudly serve. Time is also provided for the home based Early Intervention program to utilize the pool. Students from other schools who have a need for warm water therapy may use the pool on a weekly or monthly basis. Arrangements for this can be made through the child’s school district. Meeting everyone’s needs includes water adjustment skills, therapy exercise, and swimming skills. The pool is maintained at a temperature of 90-91° so it is very inviting for most people.
Current Programming
Senior Swim (55+)
The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Ewing School) pool is now open on Wednesday evenings for Seniors 55 and older. Doors open at 3:45pm. Swimming is from 4:00pm - 5:00pm every Wednesday.
The Cost is $2.00 per person. LIMIT of 40 people.
This is not an arthritis class. Please be dressed and out of the locker rooms by 5:00pm. If Ewing School is closed, the pool will also be closed. To check for pool closings due to weather, please call (740) 373-3781 ext. 4022 after 3:00pm.
Community Family Swim Night
The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Ewing School) pool is now open on Friday evenings for open swim. Swimming is from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Doors open at 5:30pm. Please be dressed and out of the locker rooms by 8:15pm.
The Cost is $2.00 per person. LIMIT of 40 people.
All swimmers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult while swimming.
If Ewing School is closed, the pool will also be closed. To check for pool closings due to weather, please call (740) 373-3781 ext. 4022 after 3:00pm.
Community Family Swim Night is open to all community members!
Pool Rental
Pool rental is available at a cost for parties on the weekends. The Facility Usage Policy and an application for renting the pool are available below.
Swim Programming Cancellations
You may call (740) 373-3781 ext. 4022, a designated phone line, to check the dated message with information regarding any pool closings. This will help to ensure participants receive closing information in a timely manner. The message will be updated by 2:30pm. if the pool is closed. If Open Swim or Family swim is canceled, there will be a dated message at this extension.
When Ewing School is closed for the holidays, school breaks, and bad weather, all swim classes/programs will be canceled.
